Podium Festival
Every other year The Academy takes a production to Moscow's biennial International Student Theatre Festival. Previuos productions have included Ben Elton's "Popcorn", Gogol's "Marriage", Chekhov's "Three Sisters", "The Wedding" and "A Jubilee" and Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs". The Academy's trips to Moscow are a fantastic opportunity for our students to perform in front of an international audience and share experiences and ideas with students and tutors from around the world. In addition to the festival, students have plenty of free time to explore this fascinating city. We organise excursions to Chekhov's House, renowned Puppet Theatres, the Moscow State Circus, Stanislavski's House and St Petersburg.
Graduate Productions
Directing students' graduating productions are open to the public for the Friday and Saturday night performances. If you are interested in studying at the Academy please come along!

Visiting Actors
Last February Eddie Marsan (The DaVinci Code, Vera Drake, Gangs of New York, 21 grams, Match Point) visited the students of ASAD. Eddie, having been taught by Sam Kogan, gave the students a great insight into life after drama school and how he used what he was taught to make it big on the big screen. The event was a great opportunity for the students to ask questions like "How do you prepare for auditions?" through to "What was it like to work with Martin Scorsese and Mike Leigh?". In April former student David Bark-Jones (The DaVinci Code, 66, Pride & Prejudice) also returned to the Academy and shared his experiences of agents, big film sets and different routes into the industry. The aim of the Academy is to prepare the students for the profession both in out and of the classroom. By having visiting professionals, students can find out what to expect in their careers from people who once had the very same questions.
Theatre trips
ASAD's regular theatre trips allow students to explore the profession whilst benefiting from group discounts. Trips this year have included Jerry Springer, the Musical, with David Soul at the Cambridge Theatre, National Anthems, starring Kevin Spacey at the Old Vic (with a student workshop included) and David Mamet's
'The Real Inspector Hound'
'Wind in the Willows'
'Deem House'
'Once upon a time'
