The Academy of the Science of Acting and Directing (ASAD), formerly The School of the Science of Acting was founded in 1991 by Sam Kogan who trained at GITIS, the now Russian Academy of Theatre Art. Sam developed Stanislavski's method into its own stand alone body of knowledge that enables all students of acting and directing to have distinct criteria for creating art for the stage, screen and film. Helen Pierpoint, now Principal, is dedicated to ensuring that this fascinating technique, developed by her father, continues developing and moving forward.
